How to Choose Your LWP
(Little White Placesetting!)
Juliska's version of the LBD is the LWP. It's your never-fail, go-to tableware that makes you feel confident and excited to host, entertain and dine with for all occasions, year round. With so many patterns to choose from, we’re dishing up a little advice to help you determine which LWP is the perfect fit for you, as we passionately believe that you should love what you live with every day. Think of your little white plate as a blank canvass for self-expression! What’s your style?
Are You a Classic?
You lean toward traditional and elegant aesthetics that stand the test of time (literally)! Historic motifs make these tried-and-true collections foundational favorites that can flawlessly transition from simple to formal without batting an eyelash.
Our iconic Berry & Thread dinnerware motif was inspired by traditional Bohemian glassware; we took the simple thread and sprinkling of berries that master artisans have been adorning mouth-blown glass with for centuries and translated it onto ceramics to create our best-selling collection.
If you’ve ever traipsed through Paris, you may recognize the classic wall detailing found in storied interiors that was the inspiration for our French Panel pattern or the rich basket weave motif often found in gallic equestrian and nautical traditions that led to our Le Panier Collection (“Le + Pan + YAY!” = “The Basket” in French). Mix and match these little white plates with your family heirlooms and other patterns alike for an effortlessly impeccable, casually formal look every day.
Don’t forget: matching serving pieces and flatware for all of those family suppers and hosting occasions.
Are You a Purist?
You want your guests to feel at ease and lean toward organic, understated pieces (that are anything but boring!) with a focus on craftsmanship and texture.
Named after the Portuguese regard for objects found in their most natural and uncontrived state, our Puro collection gleams with a whitewash glaze that brings the soft texture of rumpled linen to table settings. With a spotlight on artisanal craftsmanship, our Bilbao dinnerware is trimmed with potter’s wheel detailing that exudes warmth and patina as a beautiful juxtaposition to an otherwise minimalist look. Both of these place settings are imbued with artisanal soulfulness and are a study of simplicity at its finest.
Don’t forget: handmade wooden serving pieces, mouth-blown everyday glassware and Bistro flatware.
Are You a Romantic?
You love lavish details and to make a moment of things (even mid-week takeout), and gravitate toward functional pieces that equally inspire you.
Extra embellishments give these patterns their own story to tell, from the feminine ruffle of our Berry & Thread Flared collection to the subtle opulence of the Jardins du Monde motif that draws from four of the world’s most beautiful gardens—Landriana in Italy, Villandry in France, Alcazar in Spain and Heligan in England. Equally expressive, the Blenheim Oak pattern in rimmed with a rich faux bois (false wood) that is painstakingly sculpted by our artisans to create its elegant and enchanting woodgrain texture that was inspired by the largest living grove of ancient oak trees in Europe, which still thrives just outside of Oxford, England.
Don’t forget: fanciful linens and napkin rings, Bohemian glassware and a fabulous vase for all of those fresh flowers.
